Zack Galifianakis has been receiving a steady amount of scripts gracing his eyes for years. One of the more appealing projects, to me, on his plate was that of dead policeman working opposite Ryan Reynolds. Not anymore.

Zach Galifianakis has been forced to drop out of starring in R.I.P.D. alongside Ryan Reynolds. The actor apparently wanted to do the project, but scheduling issues with Jay Roach’s Southern Rivals, in which he co-stars with Will Ferrell, combined with his commitment to Bored to Death made doing both pictures impossible. To be directed by Robert Schwentke (Red) R.I.P.D. is based on the Dark Horse comic in which dead police officers patrol the underworld.
I, like others, didn’t give the guy a second look until the hilarity he delivered with his role in The Hangover. I’d hoped to see another, better, side of comedy from Zach G with this one as he’s yet to impress me with anything since but it seems that we will have to accept that Ryan Reynolds will have to look for another buddy cop for his umpteenth comic book flick. Shame as I was convinced that this movie could change my mind about the guy.
