Ask The Dust Trailer

Ask The DustYou know, I’m one of the few people I know (male anyway) who actually really likes Colin Farrell as an actor. No, he doesn’t always pick the best movies to appear in, but he’s solid. Sadly, it looks like his “lame streak” (New World not withstanding) will continue for another if the new Ask The Dust trailer is any indication.

Colin Farrell stars alongside Salma Hayek (who also isn’t half bad). The synopsis for the trailer looks like this:

In the Robert Towne-directed adaptation of John Fante’s Depression Era novel, Hayek will play the fiery Mexican beauty Camilla who hopes to rise above her station by marrying a wealthy American. That is complicated by meeting Arturo Bandini (Farrell), a first-generation Italian hoping to land a writing career and a blue-eyed blonde on his arm.

To me the Ask The Dust trailer felt slow, predictable and boring. Not much to entice me to the theater. But you never know.
