More Marvel comic characters are coming out way, and this one looks REALLY interesting. It has been confirmed that director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, The Hulk) has signed on to produce a film based on the Marvel character Shang-Chi. The good folks over at M&C give us this:
Announced back in 2003 under the working title of ‘The Hands of Shang-Chi, the movie will be based on the Marvel Comics hero of the 1980’s – 90’s, a young Kung-Fu master (Shang-Chi) who learns his father is the world’s worst criminal and he must face him in battle.
Sounds fantastic to me! The EVEN BETTER news on this is that Woo-Ping Yuen (fight choreographer ‘Kill Bill’, ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ – director ‘Drunken Master’) is singed on to direct the film. How many ways can you say “ACTION”. I’m salavating already. MMMmmmm… King-Fu goodness.
