At 6am (PST) on May the Fourth – the Unofficial, but widely assumed “Star Wars Day” – Lucasfilm has plans to reveal details about the Star Wars Bluray Editions. Earlier this week they sent out this image in an email to those signed up for their newsletters.
My predictions are that these will be the Special Editions, and will have plenty of bonus features built in.
Granted after over three decades of Star Wars, I can’t imagine that there would be much that could be labelled as “Never before Seen Footage” short of those 20 minutes they forgot to hit stop on the camera before a lunch break and it kept rolling on an empty darkened set.
But it would be nice to have a bluray set of the films released all at once, that contains ALL of the various special features found on different editions.
However I do exect there to be cast interviews sharing their fond memories looking back on Star Wars, and other celebrities sharing the enthusiasm of the franchise and how it affected them.
By the time this is read by most of our readers, the announcement will already be up, so scamper over to StarWars.com and see what’s going on there.
If the countdown is still on the spash screen remember, they scare easily, but they will be back soon and in greater numbers.
