Deadline brings us:
Disney and Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil are teaming up on two new projects: a feature version of the ’70s TV movie The Night Stalker, and a drama about the Midnight Ride made by Paul Revere to warn Colonial militia of the impending British invasion. Depp is the potential star of both films, and he and his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski will produce.
The Paul Revere project is interesting, I’d like to see that more than I would a Night Stalker movie.
What!?!
Yes, you read that right. And here’s why: while Kolchak doesn’t have to hunt for a vampire (there’s other supernatural stuff for him to choose from) Depp is…well, he’s in the Dark Shadows, y’ see. I’m not saying he can’t do it, but let’s say Stalker is first before Revere. Depp is playing a vampire that was created out of a TV series. Now he’s playing a vampire hunter created from a TV series. Yes, I know Kolchak has investigated and went after other ghouls and killers. But he’s best known for going after the folks with fangs. Know what I mean now?
Maybe it’s just me. If the int’ friends had a coin, which side would it land, heads being Revere?
