King is definately no stranger to having his work adapted into the small or big screen, his next novel 11/22/63 has already been optioned by none other than Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia). Demme is to direct, write and produce the adaptation.  The project does currently not have a distrubutor but Demme is aiming to start filming in 2012.

Book follows Jake Epping, a 35-year-old high school English teacher from Maine who travels back in time to try to prevent President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.

This may be an interesting take on a historical event that has already been covered in tv and movies, King’s work have proven to make for great movies Shawshank, Green mile, Stand by me… need I go on? With the book hitting shelves on November 8th I might have to go pick it up.
