I’ve mentioned a few times on The Movie Blog that I have not been a big fan of the Harry Potter movie franchise until this last one which I really enjoyed.
Now THIS is interesting news. Rumours about Terry Gilliam directing the next Harry Potter flick just won’t go away. The good folks over at Digital Spy report the following:
The rumours may have been fuelled by an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in September, where Gilliam said, “I was reading the script as I was flying to Los Angeles for the Warner Bros meeting and thought, ‘Oh, she’s seen Time Bandits, she’s seen Monty Python.’
“The terrible thing about it was during the course of the meeting, I started getting enthusiastic – I was even getting myself excited. I remember leaving the meeting, getting in my car and driving for about two hours along Mulholland Drive just so angry I’d allowed myself to get excited about it.
I’d be fascinated to see a Potter film with Gilliam at the helm. Yeah Brothers Grimm sucked hippo ass, but even the best have a bad day from time to time. Gilliam directing Harry Potter? Count me in!
