No More Cheech and Chong

CHeech-ChongYou know, I never found Cheech and Chong all that funny… but there was some sort of magic with them that always had a grin on my face when I watched their older films as a kid. Hard to put my finger on it.

There have been rumours for YEARS about a possible Cheech and Chong reunion, but it never happened. Now it looks like it never will (thankfully). The good folks at Yahoo Movies gives us this:

“DOA,” Marin replied when asked about the prospects during a press junket this week for “Cars”. “We’ve tried to do it a bunch of times and we always end up at the same place,” Marin said. “All the old animosities resurface.”

“You know what?” he added. “I’m real comfortable leaving Cheech & Chong right where it is. I was a big Laurel & Hardy fan when I was a kid. I used to watch them on TV all the time and then one time I saw a Laurel & Hardy film they made when they were a lot older and it creeped me out. I just never wanted to do that.”

Those are wise words. Words that several Hollywood studios should seriously listen to and think about before doing that next re-hash. Maybe Cheech should become a studio exec and get everything in line.
