I mentioned this in previous Mr. Bean 2 posts… but I’ve got real mixed feelings about this project. On the one hand I LOVE Mr. Bean. A lot of smiles were put on my face as a young teen watching that guy… but then the “Bean” movie came out and it just sucked balls. I was so disappointed.
So now Bean 2 cometh forth… and a part of me wants to see them redeem the mess that was the first Bean film… but the other part of me just wants them to leave it alone. Oh well, here comes Bean 2 and according to the good folks over at Cinema Confidential, they’ve got their supporting cast lined up:
Willem Dafoe, Emma de Caunes and Jean Rochefort have joined the supporting cast of “Bean 2” starring Rowan Atkinson in the role which made him known worldwide. The sequel to the 1997 film has Mr. Bean traveling to southern France where his video diary accidentally gets scheduled at the Cannes Film Festival.
As a side note… why the hell is Willem Dafoe appearing in films like this? The guy used to be a solid respected actor, but his choice of films and roles to accept in recent years really make you question his sanity.
I must admit the premise sounds like it could be fun, so I’ll be there for sure. Please oh please don’t screw this one up to!
