Superman Returns Changes Release Date

The film I have most been looking forward to this summer, Superman Returns, has just changed it’s release date. Apparently they moved up the date a coupe of days (from June 30th to June 28th. This seems to be a wise move since it gives a couple of extra days of breathing room between it and Pirates of the Caribbean 2, which is scheduled for release on July 7th.

Those 2 extra days will probably equal $40 million extra before Pirates Opens. Good move.

As a side note, I can’t imagine why the studios would release such GIANT films that close together. You’d think with this much money on the line they could have come to an understanding and put at least two weeks separation between themselves. Looks to me like they were just trying to proved who had the bigger balls. Stupid.

So mark this on your calendar kiddies. Superman does indeed return on June 28th. Thanks to Joel for the heads up.
