As most of you know by now, Ghost Rider got a HUGE delay, and pushed back to 2007 (Right now the release date is February 16th). We’ve been speculating as to why this delay happened. Well, according to Cinescape, Nicolas Cage gives us the answers:
“They’re just tweaking certain things toward the end,” Cage said in the interview. “The reason why the movie was delayed—I know that’s been on people’s minds—is there were some effects that finally got authorized by the studio that [writer-director] Mark [Steven Johnson] really wanted, and they’re pretty big, and it took time to put them together and design them. So we had to delay it. I think it’s good, because it’s something we really wanted to fight for, with Ghost Rider going into battle with the helicopter.”
Either way you looks at this, incompetence is involved. Either the incompetence of the studio to fail giving the green light on a shot until the last moment, or incompetence on the director’s part for not having all of this well thought out and planned for in advance.
Still, there is something to be said for making sure they do it right and get the movie they want out of it. But I do have one question….
BATTLE WITH THE HELICOPTER?!?!?!
