The movie theater industry has a lot of work to do to get people excited about going to the cinema again. But I like to give credit where credit is due. The theater industry has been trying small things here and there this year in an attempt to do just that. And I like this latest experiment.
AMC is going to try showing movies on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a pre-noon starting time for $4-$6 (depending on what city you’re in). They’re calling the project “AM Cinema”. Haha… I actually like it.
You know what, YES! I could see me getting to a Saturday morning showing of Pirates 2 for $6, and then go shopping for the rest of the day, or hit the beach or whatever. I may not do it all the time, but I’m sure I could see myself taking advantage of that once in a while.
Like the idea or not, you’ve got to tip your cap to the AMC folks for at least trying new things. (via)
