Ryan Reynolds And Sandra Bullock – The Proposal

Reynolds-ProposalI have a confession to make. I really like both Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Bullock is one that never really made any real sort of impression on me good or bad until I saw Miss Congeniality. Yes, you can call me Chandler… I really liked Miss Congeniality. Bullock actually showed she could portray sexy, strong and up until that point I didn’t think she could pull off “funny” too. But she did. Reynolds I’ve liked since day one. The man has so much charisma, that he almost single handedly made Blade 3 watchable (sadly, even he couldn’t pull it off). Damn, I even thought he was great in Just Friends!

Looks like the two of them are now set to star in a new comedy called “The Proposal”. Yahoo News reports:

Ryan Reynolds is in final negotiations to star opposite Sandra Bullock in the Disney romantic comedy “The Proposal.” Bullock plays a demanding boss who suddenly faces deportation to Canada. She makes a deal with her young assistant (Reynolds) to agree to a sham engagement and marriage.

Hmm… a comedy about a marriage of convenience to keep one person from getting deported (even though getting deported to Canada is an obvious upgrade). Hasn’t this premise been played a hundred times before? I guess it doesn’t really matter. With many of these comedy movies today the “Premise” isn’t really all that important, since its usually just used as a container for the comedy itself. But still, it’s nice to see a basic concept that isn’t so over-done.

Still, I’m up for seeing something with these two in it. Bullock needs something decent… her last 4 films have all been let downs. This could be a spark for her.
