Ryan Reynolds As Flash

Ryan-Reynolds-FlashSometime ago when there were plans on the books for a feature “Flash” movie, the name Ryan Reynolds was being thrown around as a possible fit for the lightning fast superhero. The project itself never got off the ground… but now with whispers (getting louder and louder) that Warner Bros. are going to do a Justice League project, it looks like Reynolds name is back in the mix.

The good folks over at Moviehole give us this:

A Coy Reynolds talked to MTV about the possibility of him wearing the red tights and the “Smokin’Aces” star gave a rather interesting answer. Sounds to me like someone’s had a chat to him about coming onboard. “I don’t really know how much I’m allowed to talk about that stuff. But I’m sure they’ll figure out something. It’s no secret that they have a JLA script and it’s a project that’s in development – the contents of which, who knows. We’ll see.”

That certainly sounds like they’re talking to him…. it also sounds like he’s very seriously talking back to them too. I’ve grown a pretty healthy respect for Reynolds as an actor. The man can pull off just about any genre… and to be really honest I think he would make one hell of a flash. So yeah, I’m down with that.

But that doesn’t change the fact that a Justice League movie that neuters Superman and Batman just for the sake of jobbing up their less popular heroes (Woner Woman, Flash, Aquaman) so they can spin them off into their own franchises is a HORRIBLE idea. Warner has no desire to make a great Justice League movie… they just want to make a 2 hour commercial for Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman… and all the other DC Heroes that most of the general public don’t care about.
