George Clooney’s Michael Clayton

Michael-ClaytonI haven’t heard anything about George Clooney’s Michael Clayton in a long time. To be honest I had pretty much forgotten all about it until now. Clooney can be in just about anything and I’ll be instantly interested. The man is the last true blooded movie star. He’s got it all… the charm, the wit, the looks… and yes… the talent.

This new film of his “Michael Clayton” sounds just wonderful too. The good folks at Cinematical give us this synopsis of the movie:

In the film, Clooney plays Michael Clayton; an in-house “fixer” at a major law firm. Basically, when someone screws up, they send this guy in to, well, fix it. Problem is, Clayton has issues of his own to deal with (a divorce, a failed business, lots of debt — essentially, it appears his entire life is out of focus; hence the image), and when a lawyer at his firm sabotages a multi-million dollar class action suit, guess who’s job it is to clean up the mess? And what a mess it is.

Sounds solid to me, and like i said, I’m up for anything this guy does right now (I can’t believe how many people still haven’t seen Good Night and Good Luck). I always like a film that goes beneith the surface of a character. 99% of the time all we’ll see is the high powered lawyer… hardly ever do we delve much deeper than that into the less shinny parts of their lives. Black, White and Grey are all parts of a human being… and I love it when a film explores that.
