Aaron Eckhart Says Harvey Dent AND Two Face In Dark Knight

TwofaceI don’t think there is a single person I’ve talked to about 2008 that hasn’t put the new Batman flick “The Dark Knight” on their top 5 most anticipated films list. Batman Begins was just such a triumph for the franchise that so badly needed a major kick in the ass to get moving again… and Christopher Nolan gave it that swift kick.

The ONLY concern I hear from people about the upcoming film is the fear that Nolan may be falling into the trap that so man have fallen into before (including previous Batman movies) of feeling the need to throw in MORE character and villains to the point where the film feels bloated and too diluted. Most fans were calling for The Joker to be the next villain in the franchise… and he is. But on the heels that Anthony Michael Hall may be playing the Riddler, comes this new from our friends over at Latino Review:

Garth ‘The Main Man’ Franklin over at Dark Horizons was able to pull even more details out of Aaron Eckhart about his upcoming role as Two-Face. What did Aaron say? “Well I will only say that in Batman I am both Harvey Dent and Harvey Two-Face. “

I was thrilled when I heard they added Eckhart to the cast of Dark Knight… this is a man who just doesn’t get enough credit as an actor (but that will change soon enough). But when I heard he was playing Harvey Dent, I assumed that they would just be keeping him as Dent for the whole film and MAYBE set something up for a latter movie involving Two Face (For those of you who may not know, Harvey Dent is the D.A. in Gotham City, and a friend of Bruce Wayne, who after a horrible incident where The Joker throws acid in his face become the villain known as Two-Face).

So what do you think? Are you getting nervous about all this villain talk? Or does the announcement that Two-Face will indeed be showing up in the movie excite you?
