I’ll never understand those people who refused to see Die Hard 4 just on the basis that it was rated PG-13 instead of R. That makes no sense to me at all. The movie was a damn good one, regardless of the rating it got, and those who skipped it just because of their pre-conceived ideas of what a movie should or should not be rated missed out on a fun time.
On of the consequences of the PG-13 rating was a lot less blood than we’re used to seeing. The action was still fantastic… but just not much (if any_ blood. Well, it looks like for the DVD release, they’re going to be digitally adding a bunch more of the red like sauce. Our friends over at Film Junk give us this:
According to Freeze Dried Movies, they have commissioned FX house Digital Dimension to digitally add blood to the various action scenes.
I don’t know if this will make certain people happy or not. I’m totally cool with them adding more blood, as long as it fits in with the existing footage and doesn’t look obviously or gratuitously added. With today’s technology that really isn’t too hard of a thing to do.
