I loved Pitch Black. I hated the Chronicles of Riddick and Dark Fury was a return to form but I missed the actual actors in their roles. I have nothing against animations, but it was something I would have preferred to see as a live action product. Vin Diesel has been campaigning a return of the franchise for a few months now and we’ve just learned that filming will commence in Canada and some new concept art has made its way online:
I like the art. Very sketchy, but the inks and computer effects give it character. I’m looking forward to seeing Vin Diesel resucitate this character and hopefully he can wash away any negative feelings I had developed after the 2nd film. No date yet on shooting, but we can take comfort in the fact that Diesel has every intention of making this movie an R-rated affair.
