It looks like Russell Crowe is going to graduate to producer with his new company Fear Of God Films. We get the information about his life decision from Monsters And Critics:
Russell Crowe has set up his own shingle, Fear of God Films and announced his first project, ‘Dolce’s Inferno,’ scripted by Mark Staufer, a former UK Universal TV exec. “Inferno” is a romantic comedy about a hardnosed LA gossip columnist who falls in love and watches his world spin out of control.
Crowe plans to produce and not take a starring role.
Russell Crowe goes on to follow so many before him in the evolution from Actor to Director to Producer. I think it is quite interesting that Russell chose a romantic comedy as his fist outing as a producer. This is a complex man. Not only will he hit you with foreign objects if he deems it appropriate, he also enjoys a good laugh and romance! He is a punching romantic.
I would like to see Russell Crowe and Mel Gibson team up to do an Australian epic. Perhaps they can do a film about genetically engineered marsupials that break free of the laboratory and threaten the inhabitants of the country with marsupial blood lust. The engineered wombats seek peace with the humans, an alliance is formed and the battle for shared existence begins!
