New news in Dansonland today – Looks like he will be back on the big screen the the upcoming film Mad Money. We get the prophecy from the druids at the Hollywood Reporter:
Ted Danson has joined “Mad Money,” a comedic caper that Callie Khouri is directing from her own script. Roger Cross, Stephen Root, Adam Rothenberg, J.C. MacKenzie, Chris McDonald and Finesse Mitchell also have been cast in the Millennium Films production, which is being toplined by Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes.
Set in Kansas City, Mo., “Money” follows three co-workers, all with their own motives, who hatch a plan to steal money scheduled to be destroyed at the Federal Reserve Bank.
Ted Danson is a great comedic actor and I want to see him in more movie action. He was genius on cheers and think that given the right script he would shine in a movie role that fits him right. It is a shame The Moguls did not get a wide release. (That is a film I still have to get my hands on – It looks hilarious)
I am not a fan of Queen Latifa in comedies. I am now neutral on the excitement meter to see Mad Money. Enjoy Dansons comedic stylings + dislike Latifa in comedy roles = neutral on the excitement meter. Bank robberies can be a funny vehicle for a comedy; Quick Change with Murray and Quaid was damn hilarious! We will simply have to wait and see if this film together is a similar hilarious fashion.
