Well this is good news. Looks like Neil Marshall is doing the new Sherlock Holmes movie we talked about the other day. The good folks over at Movies Online give us this:
Neil Marshall one of the great new horror directors of our time it seems will be taking a break to do something a bit more tame. Namely he is going to be doing a Sherlock Holmes movie based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyles hit novel.
Personally I’m dying to see what Marshall can do with a property like Sherlock Holmes. Dog Soldiers was a solid little flick, and The Descent was just simply one of the very best horror movies I’ve seen in the last 5 years. Marshall has a fantastic skill of letting atmosphere and settings become a character unto themselves in telling his stories. A period mystery piece like a Sherlock Holmes story will benefit greatly from that particular skill of his.
Damn… now I’m going to have to take a break and go watch The Descent again.
