Midnight Meat Train

Midnight-Meat-TrainI first heard of Midnight Meat Train (based on a short story by Clive Barker) in January during a visit to Lakeshore Entertainments offices in Beverly Hills. They told me the basic idea of it, and I instantly thought they had a nice quiet little hit on their hands. The casting for the movie now has me sold. The good folks over at Horrormovies.ca give us this:

This has been another film that I have been dieing to see get off the ground and rolling. Today Variety confirmed Vinnie Jones, Brooke Shields, and Bradley Cooper in “The Midnight Meat Train”. Joining the cast will be Leslie Bibb. All of whom will be directed by a director everybody should know, Ryuhei Kitumara (Versus). Jones will play a serial killer who stalks the subways looking for victims. Cooper plays a struggling photographer who decides that tracking down and capturing “the subway butcher” on film will improve his fortunes. Shields plays an art gallery owner who befriends the photog, and Bibb will play his girlfriend.

Are you fracking kidding me? Vinnie Jones as a subway stalking serial killer?!?! Holy crap, this was the role he was born to play. Obviously this isn’t going to be an Oscar contender… but I think it looks like it could possibly be a hell of a lot of fun… or suck… but the optimist in me chooses to think the former. The movie starts filming later this week.
