Ken Davitian Lands Role In Get Smart

As you know, I’ve been just gushing over Ken Davitian (The guy who plays Azamat in Borat) ever since I first saw Borat the movie. I had a chance to meet and have dinner with him on my last trip to LA and recently interviewed him here on the site (that you can listen to here). I’ve also been pretty excited about the upcoming “Get Smart” movie. Well… the two have collided.

The good folks over at Reuters give us this:

Ken Davitian, the obscure actor who found worldwide fame playing the portly sidekick in “Borat,” has joined the all-star cast of the big-screen adaptation of “Get Smart.” Steve Carell is playing Maxwell Smart, Anne Hathaway is Agent 99, and Alan Arkin is portraying the Chief of CONTROL.

Davitian will play the evil assistant to Terrence Stamp’s character, the head of the nefarious organization known as KAOS. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has also been cast in the Warner Bros. project.

I can’t even begin to tell you how thrilled I am for this incredibly talented actor. A man who has paid his dues in the acting world, loaded with talent, and on top of it all a real gem of a guy to boot. As if I wasn’t already crazy excited to see this movie. It just got kicked up a notch.
