When I first heard that Bryan Singer was taking over the Superman project, deep in my heart i was wishing for a “Death of Superman” adaptation. As some of you know, “Death Of Superman” is a storyline where The Man Of Steel actually dies at the hands of the monstrous creature known as Doomsday. The battle between the two in the comics was epic, ending with this famous image of Lois Lane holding the dead body of Superman. I still remember reading it for the first time.
However, seeing it on the big screen was not to be. HOWEVER, it looks like DC is brining us an Animated feature of Death of Superman. The god folks over at Cinematical bring us this:
during a DC Comics panel, Bruce Timm talked about a forthcoming animated feature film that will bring to life the ‘Death of Superman’ comic storyline, in which the Man of Steel was taken down by the interplanetary supervillain known as Doomsday. The film, which will run 72-minutes, is scheduled for DVD release on September 18. Timm revealed during the panel that voice actors for the project will include Adam Baldwin as Superman, Anne Heche as Lois Lane, and James Marsters as Lex Luthor.
Ok, so it’s not live action… but I’m still pumped about seeing it.
