What the fuck is wrong with our culture and society?!?! On the front page of CNN’s website (the main news organization for the planet) for 3 days now… yes 3 days… longer than the story of Saddam Hussien’s hanging… has been the story of Britney Spear’s shaving her head. Yes… the major news network of the world, is convinced that history shaping events that shape our world include a little singer who got a hair cut.
Add on top of that, I was on MSNBC’s website (arguably the second biggest news network) and what is the headline they’re running? Get this:
“Paris Hilton looks bored at Vienna’s Opera Ball”
Yeah, a whole headline and story about Paris Hilton… at some function… and the big breaking news story was that she looked bored. What the hell is wrong with our world?!?!?! Look, I’ll say it… Paris Hilton is a nobody. She’s nothing. She has no talent, she hasn’t cured any diseases, she hasn’t developed any new technologies, she hasn’t saved any lives or rescued any kittens, she’s not even THAT attractive (don’t get me wrong, I’d do her, but she’s not AMAZING looking or anything)… so why the fuck does her looking bored at some art function warrant a major news networks headline?!?!?! Are we REALLY that sad and pathetic of a people?
Sorry for the rant folks… but this just drives me crazy.
