The rumor mill has grinded to a halt with Kevin Smith letting everyone know that there are no current plans for Jaws 5. The good folks over at moviehole.net give us this on the story
:Kevin Smith dropped one of the heads of Universal an email to see whether there’s any truth to these “Jaws 5” rumors. The rumor is now shark bait. “Allow me to debunk. I dropped an email to David Linde to ask if this was true, and he said folks are confused: there’s an HD “Jaws” DVD on its way, but no “Jaws 5” straight-to-DVD”, Smith told fans on the ViewAskew message board. “And if you can’t believe Universal’s top brass, who can you believe?”
Good for Smith for putting these rumors to rest. I wonder if this has anything to do with the direct to DVD cartoon rumor that has been happening and that TMB reported on earlier this week.
No news on that internet chatter at this time.
