The Clerks cartoon on ABC in 2002 only had a two show period before it was ripped to quickly from the television whom, now, it seems there may be something new for Kevin Smith in the animated world. The good folks over at filmjunk.com give us more:
for years Kevin Smith has been talking about doing another feature-length animated Clerks movie called Clerks Sell Out. Now this week in a mysterious post on the View Askew message board during his Sunday morning Q&A, he revealed that (and I quote): “‘Clerks Sell Out’ has been swapped out for a different straight-to-DVD cartoon flick.”
Weird, what could that be? Kevin Smith is pretty tongue in cheek so it could be he’s just said this to some smart ass who asked him a cutting question about the lack of news with Clerks Sell Out. Or it is possible that he has created something different and more uniquely comic.
More likely if this is true Smith would make a hybrid cartoon with all if the best characte ie.Chasing Dogma. Although he has also expressed a hope of a “Mall Rats 2: Die hard in a mall” in the past.
Whatever the case I am sure that if there is a cartoon movie coming out by Smith, there will be an audience who will love it.
