Spies Like Us, the funny comedy from the mid eighties is being remade by Warner Brothers. The people over at joblo.com have more for us on the story:
Warner Bros. is eyeballing director John Landis’ moderately amusing comedy, a Chevy Chase and Dan Aykroyd vehicle (which also introduced the barely clad bod of Vanessa Angel) about two basement-level CIA employees who get recruited to act as unwitting decoys on a secret mission. The studio (along with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment) has apparently tasked the writers of EUROTRIP with bringing the funny forward.
Well, this movie would probably make as good a commentary of the Government today as it did in the eighties.
I can’t say I’m thrilled to see another movie being remade from the eighties but at least this one isn’t some treasure, it’s just a Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase vehicle. Like the first one this movie should cast some very funny actors for the roles, hopefully ones not too big yet. My two choices are Adam Brody (The OC and Thank You For Smoking) and Derrek Richardson( Men in Trees and Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd)
What are yours?
