Sylvester Stallone, the unhuman freak of nature (you’ll know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen Rocky 6. Holy SHIT the man is FREAKING HUGE!) Has been down in Mexico promoting his new film (the aforementioned Rocky 6). And, doing what most people do who are trying to sell you things, he started talking about the issue of the US plans to build a fence along the border to keep illegal aliens out (a hot topic in Mexico). Basically, Stallone is talking about how “Crazy” and “Ridiculous” the idea of a fence is.
Is it fair for Stallone to be using a hot political topic as a tool to promote his movie? Meh… I guess it’s fair. Everyone else tries to do it. But I just had to ask this question, and if someone could answer it for me I’d be very grateful. Here’s my question:
Being a Canadian, I can’t properly understand some of the US issues. But I can’t help but wonder… if it is illegal for illegal immigrants to come across the border… why does anyone have a problem with the idea of the US building a fence if it’s becoming a huge problem? I don’t get it. Are people saying that Mexican nationals should just be allowed to cross the border anytime they want and live in the US? Or are they saying that should still be illegal, but the US shouldn’t do anything to enforce it??
Look, I’m CLEARLY no right wing supporter, but I just don’t get what the problem is, and I’m honestly asking for someone to explain it to me.
