I liked Mrs. Doubtfire very much. It was clever and cute, with just the right balance of humour and sappy crap for a film of its genre. But when word came out about a year ago that they were going to move ahead with a Mrs. Doubtfire 2, it cause some debate amongst some online film fans. Fair enough.
But now word comes that Robin WIlliams is saying “No Mrs. Doubtfire 2”. Filmstalker reports the following:
Robin Williams has just announced on BBC’s Radio 1 to Edith Bowman that there will not be a Mrs Doubtfire 2, not with him anyway. He said that if it’s not going to be done right, then it’s not worth doing.
I think Eddie Murphy should take a look at this. When your career is starting to struggle, don’t just jump back to an old cash cow (cough cough… Beverly Hills Cop 4… cough cough).
