Early reviews for James Bond movie Casino Royale very strong

bond.jpgCasino Royale’s early reviews are very good, much to the credit it seems to the gamble that producers took on casting Daniel Craig. Yahoonews.com give us this:

British actor Daniel Craig, the controversial choice to play the new James Bond in the upcoming film “Casino Royale,” has won early reviews Miss Moneypenny would be proud of.

The producers of one of the world’s most successful movie franchises were seen taking a considerable risk with Craig, who angry fans said was too blond, too ugly and insufficiently suave to serve on Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Here are some of the early reviews:

“His main asset quickly becomes evident. He can act.” The Times Wendy Ide, “This Bond is far more vulnerable than his predecessors,” said David Edwards in British tabloid the Daily Mirror.

“Casino Royale” takes viewers back to the beginning of Bond’s life as a spy, allowing director Martin Campbell to introduce character changes most have welcomed. “This Bond is far more vulnerable than his predecessors,” said David Edwards in British tabloid the Daily Mirror.

“Casino Royale” is described as darker and more raw than previous films in the series and less reliant on the gadgets that have helped Bond out of countless scrapes.

I’ve wanted to see this movie since the first trailer I saw for it. I never thought that Craig was a bad idea, just the opposite, with his intense eyes and strong screen presence, he is a fantastic choice. The guy can really act, and act like a spy, his performance in Munich was my favorite of the film.

Now hearing these reviews I am even more excited. The storyline sounds great. I want to see a less in control Bond, see him grow into the smooth operator throughout the movie, not just be super cool from start to finish. A darker James Bond sounds great.

This film has the potential to be very lucrative and also it could bring the younger generation back to Bond. With better acting, action, and playing against the cliché lines this could be the best Bond film in a decade.

I’ve never gone to see Bond at a theater before but I will be stepping in line and I can’t wait to request Bond, James Bond.
