Looks like the new Incredible Hulk movie has it’s release date. And that date, is June 27th 2008, just about a year and a half away. I for one, can’t bloody wait!
This film will be a departure from the first “Hulk” movie (which I thought was wonderful, even if most people didn’t). There has been word that this incarnation of Hulk will be a total re-boot. That it will pretend the first Hulk movie does not exist and just restart the franchise again. Some people have suggested otherwise, but I personally think this is the way they will go with it.
While the first Hulk film focused more on the personal conflict issues with Baner, and less on the “Hulk Smash” action most fans were wanting, this new film seems poised to go all out “Hulk F’Ing Smash!!!” which has lots of fans happy already. They’ve already taken a step in the right direction with hiring Transporter 2 and Unleashed director Louis Leterrier. On top of that, the good folks over at ComingSoon give us this:
“‘The Incredible Hulk’ will be the type of fun, high-octane event film people have come to expect from Marvel. We could not be more excited about this project and our summer 2008 prospects now that we have both our green goliath and our highly-anticipated ‘Iron Man’ set for release.”
Ever since they announced that Abomination was going to be the bad guy, I’ve been drooling over the thoughts of this film. Oh the amount of pure carnage and destruction could be amazing if done right.
So mark it down… June 27th 2008. I’ll see you there.
