Remember way back in 1989, Weird Al Yankovic had a movie called UHF? For some reason I forgot how freaking funny it is! I had a girl… yes you read that right… A GIRL, over at my place the other night and Seinfeld was on. I mentioned to her, “You know, Michael Richards was on UHF before he was Kramer”. To which she replied “What’s UHF?”.
I almost threw her out of my place. But decided instead that we should watch UHF right there on the spot. I got the DVD last year… but hadn’t watched it since like 1990. I can’t belive how many if the lines I still remembered. The movie is totally stupid, but you laugh your ass off. And go figure, they knew how to be funny without swearing or sex jokes. Who can forget:
– Wheel of Fish
– Roule’s Wild Kingdom (teaching Poodles how to fly)
– Ghandi 2
– Conan The Librarian
– Celebrity mud wrestling
Oh yes. And Michael Richards as janitor/TV star Stanley Spadowski… man he was good in this flick. Anyway, much much fun. If you haven’t seen UHF, make sure you grab it with your buddies and check it out. It is dumb beyond words… but you’ll catch yourself grining the whole time.
