This is one thing that always makes me happy in SuperHero films. Setup.
Beau Garrett and Andre Braugher have been cast in “Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer,” which Tim Story is directing for 20th Century Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis are reprising their roles for the adaptation of the long-running Marvel comics series, a follow-up to last year’s Fantastic Four. Shooting is under way in Vancouver.
The news of two new additions to the cast of Fantastic Four 2 are important, but Beau Garret will be playing Frankie Raye, a love interest for The Human Torch who later developes fire powers herself.
Later in the FF history, Frankie Raye becomes a Herald for Galactus named Nova replacing the Silver Surfer.
It is unknown as to whether Frankie will show any signs of her powers, or her phobia of fire (an interesting thing since she is to be dating the Human Torch) but if she doesn’t, then we know they are setting something up, or at very least keeping some fan goodies for comic readers to try and catch.
