In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
We all know how I feel about Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man film and how my opinion isn’t too favorable with the original film. I thought it was a bit of a dud and I didn’t really care for the movie. That said, I’ve been pretty positive minded toward the upcoming sequel. The fact is one of my main issues with the film is that I didn’t like the way the origin was handled. This not being an origin film goes a long way for the benefit of the next film since this obvious obstacle is out of the way that the production team could really sink their teeth into making something more personalized.
I like the fact that Mary Jane will be introduced in this film and the endless potential for the character and her relationship with Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker. What isn’t so obvious is her potential character relationship with Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy and that’s where I have an underlying interest. Check out this set video that was recently released showcasing some interaction with the stars of the film in full.
