Tom Cruise Unleashes Scientology Goons?

The circus that is Tom Cruise just seems to keep adding attractions to it’s twisted side show. Just when I’ve finally started to say that Tom Cruise could be on long hard road to rebuilding his reputation amongst fans… THIS STORY COMES UP:

Apparently according to the story, Tom Cruise sent Church of Scientology thugs to try to intimidate a studio exec with regards to the studio wanting to cut Cruise’s take on the Mission Impossible 3 film. The folks at Radar have this:

According to a high-ranking media executive, Paramount Pictures honcho Grey had a highly unpleasant run-in with the Church during his tense negotiations with Cruise over Mission: Impossible 3. Grey, who had recently joined the studio, entered the talks determined to make Cruise accept a smaller share of the gross revenues than he had from the first two installments in the franchise. (For those films, the actor reportedly took home an unheard-of 30 percent of the total revenue.)

Leaving the office one night, the diminutive Grey, walking to his car in the Paramount lot, suddenly found himself surrounded by more than a dozen Scientologists, who pressured him to ease up on the actor, according to the source. Following a terse exchange, the visitors allowed Grey to get into his car and leave, but the message was clear.

Holy crap! Ok, I want to be very careful here… but if this story is indeed true, then that is some crazy ass stuff! Cruise is more scary than I thought and is seriously deranged. Paramount studios didn’t comment on the story… but the church of Scientology is denying it.

Ok, looking at Cruise turn himself into “Side Show Bob” has been funny, and a litle sad over the last year or so… but THIS is totally different. This is the sort of thing you write books about. I really and honestly hope this isn’t true… because if it is, then this Cruise thing just took a really bad turn.
