Hey look! ITunes selling you stuff you cant fully enjoy! But at great prices!!
Yesterday Steve Jobs unveiled the newest version of iTunes, along with the big service that everyone’s been waiting for… downloadable movies! To start with, the iTunes store is offering 75 movies from Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films, including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Incredibles, National Treasure, Toy Story, and The Rock. Prices are $12.99 for new releases during their first week of availability, $14.99 for new releases in general, and older movies for $9.99.
Once again, I can hardly see any sense in offering movies for download when they cannot be written to DVD. Oh sure, they are planning to release a “player” that will adapt your IPod to show these “near dvd” quality movies on your TV. Great. They will get MORE of your money by marketing sub par quality products.
Am I the only person who thinks this is the dumbest idea ever??
