The Rock no more

Here at the Movie Blog the topic of “who will be the next big action hero” has been tossed around and though Jason Statham has been a top contender, I still think there is someone else who does some fun action. The Rock.. I mean Dwayne Johnson.

Cinematical gives us:

With the release of Southland Tales, Johnson will be credited as just Dwayne Johnson, no nickname included, and he’s hoping to keep it that way. Of course, the fans, the journalists and probably most of the world will continue calling him “The Rock”

I think this is a class act move for The Rock. I mean Dwayne Johnson.

Of course, this didnt work well for Robert Van Winkle, but he didnt have the talent that Johnson has. But I think this will distance Johnson from his wrestling past and help secure him as an action star instead of “professional wrestler in a movie” star.
