Zach Braff Not Fletch?

It’s been known for a while now that Zach Braff is the boy of choice by the studios to pick up Chevy Chase’s mantle as Fletch in the upcoming Fletch Won. And when the studios went ahead and hired Braff’s buddy and co-worker on Scrubs, Bill Lawrence to direct, it was just assumed that Braff was all set to go as Fletch.

Well not so fast cowboy… Braff is dragging his heels and has signed on yet. The good folks over at IESB give us the following:

So when we sat down with Zach during the promotion of his new film The Last Kiss, we had to go with the Fletch question. Is he doing it or is he not? He says, “No I am not definately doing Fletch Won, I am thinking about it but I am not definately signed on.”

So what’s the hold up then??? Just say yes or no. You’ve freaking had MONTHS to think about this.

Maybe this is a good thing. I’ve never thought Braff was the right guy for Fletch (don’t get me wrong… I like Braff… but I’ve never thought he was right for this particular role). Maybe they’ll wise up now and move on to get either Jason Lee or Ryan Reynolds for the role. I’m not saying they’re “better” than Braff… just better suited for this movie. Your thoughts?
