Tarnsformers Character Announcement – No Win Situation

Starscream-MegatronIn just a couple of hours, they’re going to announce which Autobots and Decepticons are going to actually be in The Transformers Movie. And no matter what they announce… people will complain.

It’s almost like X-Men. There are just too many good characters in the X-Men universe for Bryan Singer to make everyone happy. No matter how many charcters he put in, there were going to be people crying “Why the hell isn’t “so and so” in it! This movie will suck!”

Transformers faces the same dilemma. If there is no Soundwave, people will complain, if there is Soundwave, but no Thundercracker… people will complain. If every single one of them is in it… people will complain there are too many. No matter what… people will complain (hell… I’m probably one of them).

To me, there are only 2 untouchables. Optimus Prime and Megatron. After that, it’s all just bonus to me. Sure, I’d LOVE to see Soundwave (but not as a portable stereo), I’d LOVE to see Starscream and I’d love to see Grimlock. But I understand they can’t do everything.

So get ready. I’m excited about the announcement… but I’m also preparing myself for the flood of emails and comments from people crying about who got in and who was left out (I’ll probably be one of them too). It’s a no win situation really… but it’s good publicity.
