Lord of the Rings back in Theatres?

Dear God, this is the worst attempt at a money grab I have seen since the dozen Star Wars editions.

Lord of the Rings is by far one of the greatest experiences on film. I also didnt mind the Special Extended editions as I thought they added something special that brings a new depth to the film. I also wouldnt mind bringing Lord of the Rings back into theatres like Star Wars did, but this soon?

Filmrot says:

A process called dimensionalisation enables classics to be re-released in 3-D, starting with The Nightmare Before Christmas in December. “Peter Jackson is a 3-D freak like me and he’s been experimenting with footage from King Kong. He and I also talked about the feasibility of doing the three LOTR films” revealed Cameron.

So now King Kong might get this treatment as well? I think it would be geekycool to see some of the battle scenes in 3d, but I don’t know that we need re-releases of these movies this soon after. Forget working on this revamp. Get to doing the Hobbit!! Why are you wasting time with this?

And you know this is only going to lead to the eventual release of the 3D versions of Lord of the Rings on DvD, and maybe even Kong.
