Oliver Platt in “Who Killed all the great chefs?”

Oliver Platt is another one of those actors that I love seeing. He isn’t a superstar or “A List” but I just enjoy the characters he plays so much. Looks like I will get to see him in the remake of Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? in a clever retitling Who is Killing the Great Chefs?

Coming Soon.net says

The studio has hired screenwriter David A. Goodman (“Family Guy”) to pen the script, with Oliver Platt attached to star in the one of the two lead male roles.

In the updated version, Platt will play a food critic who comes to Vegas to check out the action, reprising the role played by Robert Morley in the original. But when a chef is found murdered in the same way his signature dish is prepared, the critic becomes a suspect.

It would appear the obvious lack of “in Europe” has to do with moving the remake to another location. This geographical twist has proven successful in other legendary blockbusters such as Escape from L.A. and An American Werewolf in Paris so I can’t possibly see how this can’t add a new element to the film.

Granted this doesnt sound like an Oscar winner, but with a writer from Family Guy and Oliver Platt, I am predicting this to be a hoot!
