It’s been a year since the Halo movie was announced. Still no release date (even though they had one), still no script (even though they had one), and most importantly still no director.
HOWEVER… the big news for Halo film fans is that… there’s going to be news.
Yes, you read that right. The news, is that next week there is going to be news. Whhheeeee. The good folks over at Bungie put this up on their website:
Joe Staten says we’re going to have some movie news next week, at long last, but when I asked him about it for the update, Joseph turned in his chair and said, “I look upon the fields. Dry and cracked. And hear the cries for rain. Soon. The rain shall come.” Then he swiveled, and spoke no more.
Our friends over at HBO noticed (after some hefty spywork) the WETA has started to include the Halo project in the bios of some of its designers.
So the news is that there is going to be news… and that WETA is going to be working on Halo. Ummm… yeah… we’ve known for a year now that WETA was working on Halo. All they need is something to actually work on.
But who knows. Perhaps things are actually going to start to move. Maybe they’re going to announce that they’ve hired a director for this thing. That would be a MAJOR step in the right direction. Let’s hope they actually start giving us something positive to talk about.
