J-Lo Leaves Dallas

Jennifer-Lopez Quits DallasHave you ever heard of the term “Addition by Subtraction”? It basically means you improve something by taking something out. That’s what just happened to the Dallas film project as Jennifer Lopez has ditched the film and split.

I actually posted months ago about the fact J-Lo wanted out, but as someone emailed me, it wasn’t official at the time… well it is now. I’ve talk before about how Halo is a mess right now… well hell… so is Dallas. Listen to what the good folks oat Dark Horizons tell us:

Reps for the actress, set to play Sue Ellen – the alcoholic wife of oil magnate JR Ewing (John Travolta), confirmed the news to the American publication Star. Earlier this year, “Legally Blonde” director Robert Luketic quit the project citing “creative differences” and was reportedly unhappy with casting choices. Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha is now attached to direct the film.

Casting mistakes, director leaves, bad replacement director choice, and now cast dropping out? Wow… this project is in trouble.

But as I said in the opening… this is actually a good thing for Dallas. J-Lo can’t act. Can I be any more clear on that point? Despite her popularity, her films bomb, she is box office poison, and is the poster child for “Famous for being Famous”. I think she and Chris Tucker would make a great couple.

It’s never good news with cast drops out… but maybe this is the exception.
