War Machine in Iron Man?

Terrence-Howard War MachineThis is one bit of Iron Man news that I’ve found really interesting. It look as if Hustle and Flow star Terrence Howard may have been offered the role of James Rhodes, the guy who takes over as Iron Man for a little while while Stark was out, and then eventually become War Machine (much liken unto Azreal taking over as Batman for a year in the Knightfall series).

Howard is a terrific actor and I always say that adding talent to your project is never a bad idea. This would also open up some additional story opportunities in the movie and pave the way for an eventual War Machine spinn off if it was popular enough (why else would they get a guy like Howard in a smaller supporting role like this unless they had that in the back of their minds?)

Overall, I’d say this is positive stuff if true. I’ll keep my eye on it.
