George Takei simply rules. Aside from James Earl Jones, he probably has the damn coolest voice in the entertainment industry. And when the man speaks Japanese, he can make you crap yourself on demand. I swear, if he got mad and started yelling at me in Japanese, talking about the lack of honor I have shamed my ancestors with, I’m pretty sure I’d jump off a building if he told me to.
Anyway, looks like the man has just had an asteroid named after him. The folks over at SciFi give us this:
Star Trek and Heroes star George Takei has been immortalized by having his name permanently affixed to an asteroid between Mars and Jupiter, StarTrek.com reported. The Committee on Small Body Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union approved the name “7307 Takei” for the asteroid previously labeled “1994 GT9,” the site reported.
That’s hilarious. I think I’ll name one of my nuts Takei. I just hope they didn’t really kill him off Heroes. If they did… that was a totally lame thing to do, and a totally lame way to go.
