After a pair of critically acclaimed ultra-low budget indie films – The Virgin Suicides and Lost In Translation – Sofia Coppola is making the jump to big budget studio fare, signing on to tackle the story of Marie Antoinette. Kirsten Dunst will be playing the teenaged queen, which makes a pretty good degree of sense, with Jason Schartzman starring as King Louis XVI, which makes significantly less sense on the face of things, though I’ve got to say I’m curious what Schartzman will come up with for the role. All the details are here.
