The first Final Destination film was an interesting idea. Not a great film, but I can completely understand why they made it. The second one (some thought was better) was unnecessary… the third one was just killed time (no pun intended). We heard a while ago that there were plans in motion to do a Final Destination 4, but things got quiet after that. Well… it looks like things are indeed moving forward with word that Final Destination 2 director David Ellis is getting back in the chair.
The good folks over at ComingSoon give us this:
David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2) has signed to direct and develop Final Destination 4, the latest installment of New Line’s popular horror series, which the studio plans to shoot in 3-D. While plot details for “FD4” are being kept under wraps, the movie will stand alone: It will feature new teens facing new forms of death. The script was written by Eric Bress, who co-wrote Final Destination 2.
Ok ok ok… yes we get it… you can’t cheat fate, if you do, death is still gonna track you down and getcha in horrible bloody and gory ways. We got the message the first three times you laid it into us.
All I can surmise is that the studio is dusting off actual completed scripts that have been collecting dust on the shelves in light of the current writers strike.
