Another notable A-lister has joined the cast of Martin Scorsese’s next film, ‘Shutter Island’ for Paramount Pictures.
Comingsoon.net gives us this:
Leonardo DiCaprio will star as a U.S. marshall who is sent to the remote New England island in summer 1954 to investigate the disappearance of a patient from the island’s prison/mental hospital.
Mark Ruffalo has already boarded the project. Kingsley will portray the mental hospital’s chief physician.
It’s great that this film got Ben Kingsley, for I think he is a tremendous actor. Although, I’m surprised that Martin Scorsese is working with Leonardo Dicaprio again. This will be their fourth film in a row working together. They do make a great team, but geez…doesn’t Scorsese want to take on a project with a completely FRESH cast already? Maybe he just wants Leonardo (a.k.a. “The Susan Lucci of film”) to win that OSCAR for once.
Anyways having a movie with Scorsese, Dicaprio, Ruffalo, and Kingsley’s names on it, there is no doubt this film will be a critical success. (Although it might not win Dicaprio that best actor OSCAR he’s been hoping for.) ;)
