When I first came across the website for Kakushiken I immediately thought to myself, “Hmm. This looks a lot like The Twilight Samurai.” As it turns out there’s a perfectly good reason for that as Kakushiken is directed by Yoji Yamada who, yes indeed, was the man behind the helm for the Oscar-nominated Twilight Samurai. Not speaking or reading Japanese I can’t say this for certain but it definitely looks as though the two films may also share a lead actor, possibly even playing the same character. Regardless, this looks as though it’ll be another classic for Yamada. Check out the trailer here.
